Hi, I am reinstalling Microsoft Windows XP Professional on a Dell Dimension 9150. I have identified the RAID hardware as Intel 82801 GR/GH (ICH7 Family).

I downloaded the drivers from Intel's website and loaded the 32-bit drivers on a floppy. I have tried both the 3.5 in.

Floppy connected directly to the motherboard with a ribbon cable as well as a USB floppy drive. I hit F6 at the start of installation and select the right hardware from the list. The Windows installer keeps asking for the files and says to check the CD even though it tries to read from the floppy every time I instruct it to try again.

Someone suggested i might try to burn a Windows XP PRO CD with the drivers included. I'm not exactly sure how to do that, although I have made slipstreamed disks in the past. Please advise.

Is it giving a 'floppy-not-found-or-unreadable' error? If so, you may have to check wether you've accidentically protected your floppy.

Other cause might be the fact you only put the x32 drivers on the floppy in their own directory without some 'general' files needed to point the OS to the right directory. Dirk Offline. It isn't write protected.

I just put the files on it. I first tried a floppy already with what i was sure were the right drivers, but it kept saying it couldn't find the files. So i downloaded them from intel.

I put all the files under 32bit on the root of the floppy. That's very strange indeed. When you fire up your machine, how is the FD reacting? Cheat Fly Gta Samp Administration. Does the LED comes up and fades again or does it stay on?

Just to make sure your FD ribbon isn't giving headaches (personal experience I may say). I suppose you have the disk made on another computer. What OS does that machine have, and did you format the disk on that machine before putting the files on it? Hmm, after a quick checkup of the online manual for your machine, I wonder if you did make some changes on the settings for the floppy in the BIOS. Looks like you have many options there, which may have some influece on the behavior of your OS-setup. The usual reasons for the drivers not being recognized is the wrong drivers, I was about to say check the Dell site or the motherboard manufacturers website rather than Intel's. Bad floppy drive disks can also cause this problem, many times they will successfully except the download and fail when you try to install the drivers, due to flaking of the magnetic layer on the disk.
