This was an audition piece of mine and I loved it so much that I decided to use it at a recital. It's basically broken down into sections and the begining is wonderful because it gives the player a chance to show off his tone and has a lot. Of room for interpretation since it is all unaccompanied.

The slow section must be played with strong dynamic contrast and shouldn't be played too fast so that it greatly contrasts with the suddeness of the finale. The last part takes practice, especially the triple tounging in the high range, but the tempo shouldn't be too fast. If you look at this piece as more than just a festival solo or technique builder, then you'll appreciate it's subtlties more and will be able to really milk it for all it's worth.

I loved it and am using it in another recital that I'm playing in England. I think it is a great ambassador to the modern Bb trumpet in it's contemporary form, Bozza wrote it well. Definetly fun to play and has a hell of an ending!
